If you and your family are looking for a new tradition, I’d like to invite you to New Hope Presbyterian Church’s Living Nativity that will be taking place on Dec. 7th and 8th, 2019 here in Eustis, FL.
Our Living Nativity will feature live actors and animals, in six different scenes as told to us in the Bible.
This event is totally free and a gift from New Hope Presbyterian Church to our community and surrounding areas. We hope to share with everyone that attends the hope that we have found in Jesus Christ through sharing His Word with them through this Living Nativity.
The Living Nativity will start each night at 6 p.m. and run to 9 p.m. We will let people walk through the scenes and get an up close and personal view of them from 6 – 7:15 p.m. each night. Starting at 7:30-9 p.m. each night we will allow car-loads of people to drive through the scenes.
We will have a scene from Isaiah, foretelling the Birth of Jesus, a Road to Bethlehem scene, Jesus being born, an empty tomb scene and others. There will be an opportunity to see these things we read about in the Bible come alive.
If any of you have sheep or a camel or two and would like to be a part of the Living Nativity we are still looking for a few, you can contact the church office between 9 a.m. -2 p.m. Tuesdays – Fridays, at 352-483-3833 or email us for more information at email@example.com, and reference the Living Nativity.
Eustis is right next to Mount Dora and there is always plenty to do in either town that time of year. You could get a hotel room and stay the night and enjoy walking down town lit up with Christmas lights, maybe even catch a Christmas parade, catch a play, or dinner at a nice restaurant.
My whole family will be participating in the play, I won’t spoil who is who, but everyone knows that my wife is a total angel so there is that hint for you.
This has been a great event that has really brought the whole church together, We have ladies that are sewing and men that are creating scenes and stables and places for the animals. We have people painting and people of all ages volunteering to participate, even real life twins that will take turns playing baby Jesus.
If you would like directions to the church or more information, contact our church website at www.newhopepca.com.
We truly want people to hear the good news about the Jesus Christ, what He has done, is doing and promises to do for us. So I’d encourage you if you are a believer to take this opportunity and come North a couple hours for the weekend, and bring that family member or friend you have been praying for but not sure how to tell them about Jesus, and come experience the Living Nativity with us.
Start making plans today, as it is only about a month away. That is hard enough to believe that Christmas is just around the corner. I am praying that this Living Nativity will be a blessing for you and your family, and the community here in Lake County as well this Christmas Season.
Isaiah 9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 7 Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this. (ESV)
May God’s peace be yours this Christmas.
